1.  Canadian Judicial Council Rejects Bias Complaint against Homosexual-Activist Judge McMurtry
Council chose to ignore its own guidelines in order to protect Chief Justice McMurtry
By Gudrun Schultz
OTTAWA, Ontario, January 25, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A complaint against Ontario Chief Justice McMurtry over his conduct during the pivotal same-sex marriage case of 2003 was rejected by the Canadian Judicial Council, REAL Women of Canada reported yesterday in a public statement.
REAL Women submitted the complaint to the council after it was revealed that Justice McMurtry's daughter was living in a lesbian relationship at the time of his handling of the case. As well, photographs of the Chief Justice at a party with two of the litigants in the case, taken two weeks after the court's decision, indicated an inappropriate personal involvement on the part of McMurtry, REAL Women said.
REAL Women argued that the circumstances of McMurtry's daughter should have led him to recuse himself from the case under conflict of interest.
The Council, however, concluded that there was no basis to support that view. In the Judicial Council's letter to REAL Women dated December 19, 2006, the Council claimed:
"… the sexual orientation of a judge's children, and indeed the fact that a judge's children are married or living in a common law relationship are not, in Chief Justice Scott's view, indicative of any bias on the part of a judge."
The council's decision appears to contradict the guidelines established by the CJC in its document, "Ethical Principles for Judges," REAL Women pointed out, which state:
"Judges should disqualify themselves in any case in which they believe that a reasonable, fair minded and informed person would have a reasoned suspicion of conflict of interest between a judge's personal interest (or that of a judge's immediate family or close friends or associates) and a judge's duty."
"It seems clear that the Judicial Council chose to ignore its own guidelines in order to protect Chief Justice McMurtry," REAL Women stated.
"The decision of the Canadian Judicial Council on the complaint against Chief Justice McMurtry indicates that the purpose of the Canadian Judicial Council is not to protect the public from the judges, but rather to protect the judges from the public. It also maintains the myth that judges are above politics, impartial and objective. Such is not necessarily the case."
The CJC decision dismissed the suggestion of misconduct in Justice McMurtry's social involvement with litigants in the case, saying his refusal to have been photographed with the litigants could have been seen as "mean-spirited or worse."

This is about moral coercion of the conscience."

I) The Moral Dilemma of Abortion Related Vaccines

Among all the medical advances of the past two centuries, immunization may have brought the greatest improvement to our health and life expectancy. It provides the best possible protection against some very serious diseases. Canadian Physicians for Life recommends that all adults and children be vaccinated according to the current national and provincial immunization guidelines.

The problem is that many viral vaccines commonly used in Canada, and around the world, were developed from cell lines from the tissue of aborted fetuses. (Research on cell lines from aborted fetuses began in the 1960's.)

A list of some of these ethically tainted vaccines is available here:
http://www.physiciansforlife.ca/html/press/CanadianVaccinesAbortedFetalTissue.pdf

This presents a serious moral dilemma to those who might view the use of such abortion-related vaccines as a form of cooperation with an immoral act, but who are also aware of the dire health consequences of failing to immunize themselves or their children. In the future, there is also the real danger of similar situations arising with treatments derived from the destruction of embryos in embryonic stem cell research. A precedent for ethical alternatives needs to be set.

II) Good News! Ethical Alternatives Now Available

Legally approved and effective vaccines are available which have been created from sources other than abortion-derived fetal cell lines.

Specifically the infant vaccine Pediacel (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Haemophilus B), which is currently being used in the UK and other nations, does not derive from fetal tissue.

Unfortunately, it is not being used in Canada. Rather the government funded vaccine used for these same diseases is Pentacel which is partly derived using a cell line created from aborted fetal tissue.

(III) Canadian Physicians for Life Success Story!

To address this dilemma, Canadian Physicians for Life (
www.physiciansforlife.ca) wrote letters to all the provincial and territorial health ministers asking that Pediacel be made available to Canadians to provide a choice between these two vaccines for parents who are morally troubled by the origins of the Pentacel vaccine.

To date, they have received one favourable response.

Alberta Health and Wellness confirmed that the Alberta Government will make Pediacel available in publicly funded immunization programs after March 2007.

IV) Practical Reason for Alternative Vaccine

Aside from the ethical reason for making Pediacel available there is also a very practical one.

It is critical for the public good that there should always be two sources for all vaccines in Canada. If one company shuts down, or has a problem with supply, there is an alternative to meet the needs of Canadians.

V) Take Action: Write and Call Your Health Minister

Albertans: Send a thank you letter to the health minister at our 1 Click Site:

Words for the Wise & Humor

1.  Do it anyway

Achievement most often takes place under conditions that are less than ideal. Just because there is some problem or difficulty or shortcoming in your life at the moment, it does not prevent you from moving forward.

Focus not on what is missing or what is wrong. Focus on doing your very best within the circumstances as they are.

Seek not to find an excuse. Instead, do what you have chosen to do, create what you have chosen to create, live as you have chosen to live, no matter what.

If you wait until conditions are perfect, you'll spend most of your time waiting. You'll be far better off when you go ahead and put that time to effective and productive use.

There may be plenty of reasonable excuses for not moving forward. Go ahead and do it anyway.

Sure, it would be great if some things were a little different, yet the reality is that conditions are as they are. Do it anyway, for that is the way it will get done.

-- Ralph Marston

2.  A Righteous Standard Shall Prevail
Even in moments when it seems irrevocable, the Lord will raise up a supernatural standard. Even in this current political maelstrom, a righteous standard shall prevail and everyone shall see it at once.
"Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people." (Isaiah 62:10)

"Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard..." (Jeremiah 50:2).

3.  EVEN GOD ENJOYS A GOOD LAUGH....

There were 3 good arguments that Jesus was Black:
1. He called everyone brother.
2. He liked Gospel.
3. He couldn't get a fair trial.

But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was Jewish:
1. He went into His Father's business.
2. He lived at home until he was 33.
3. He was sure his Mother was a virgin and his Mother was sure He was God.

But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was Italian:
1. He talked with His hands.
2. He had wine with His meals.
3. He used olive oil.

But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was a Californian:
1. He never cut His hair.
2 He walked around barefoot all the time.
3. He started a new religion.

But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was an American Indian:
1. He was at peace with nature.
2. He ate a lot of fish.
3. He talked about the Great Spirit.
But then there were 3 equally good arguments that Jesus was Irish:
1. He never got married.
2. He was always telling stories.
3. He loved green pastures.

But the most compelling evidence of all - 3 proofs that Jesus was a WOMAN:
1. He fed a crowd at a moment's notice when there was no food.
2. He kept trying to get a message across to a bunch of men who just didn't get it.
3. And even when He was dead, He had to get up because there was work to do.

4.
EXPLANATION OF GOD
Written by an 8-year-old named Danny Dutton, who lives  in Chula Vista, CA. He wrote it for his third grade homework  assignment, to "explain  God." I wonder if any of us could  have done as well?  ... and he had such an assignment, in California, and  someone published it, I guess miracles do happen ! ..

EXPLANATION OF GOD:  "One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to  replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to  take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grownups, just  babies I think because they are smaller and easier to make.  That way he doesn't have to take up his valuable time  teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to  mothers and fathers."

"God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An  awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers  and things, pray at times besides bedtime. God doesn't have  time to listen to the radio or TV because of this. Because he  hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in  his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off."

"God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere  which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting his  time by going over your mom and dad's head asking for  something they said you couldn't have."

"Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think  there are any in Chula Vista . At least there aren't any who  come to our church."

"Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work, like  walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach  the people who didn't want to learn about God. They finally  got tired of him preaching to them and they crucified him But  he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his father  that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive  them and God said O.K."  "

His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and  all his hard work on earth so he told him he didn't have to  go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So he  did. And now he helps his dad out by listening to prayers and  seeing things which are important for God to take care of and  which ones he can take care of himself without having to  bother God. Like a secretary, only more important."

"You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you  because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all  the  tiime."  "You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes  God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy,  it's God!  Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun  like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun  doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway."

"If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you  will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere  with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's  around you when you're scared, in the dark or when you can't  swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids."

"But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for  you. I figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime  he pleases.    And...that's why I believe in God."

5.
CELL PHONE VS. BIBLE
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?
This is something to make you go, hmmm, where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cellphones, we don’t ever have to worry
about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!, C'on guys tell me your views! Have a blessed day!

6.  Make His Word the Last Word
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
(Revelation 1:8)

Jesus is the beginning and the ending. He is the Almighty. When He told us that in the Book of Revelation, He wasn't just giving us a general piece of information about Himself. He was giving us a powerful truth we can apply now, today!
Let me show you how. He said He is the beginning. So no matter what challenge or situation you may be facing right now, you need to start with Him. John 1:1 says Jesus is the Word. That means, if you're going to start with Jesus, you're going to start with the Word. Don't do anything until you find out what the Word has to say about it.
Then, stay on the Word. As Colossians 1:23 says, "Continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard."
Continue in the faith. The only way the devil can defeat you is to pressure you into throwing away the Word. Everything he does, every challenge he brings you is intended to make you doubt the Word of God. So don't let go of the Word, no matter what may happen. Settle it with God in prayer and stay with it forever. It is written!
Then end with the Word. Jesus said He was the first and the last. That means the word of your doctor is not the last word. Even the word of your pastor is not the last word. The Word of Jesus is the last Word!
Remember this: You are now what the Word says you are. You can do what the Word says you can do. And you can have what the Word says you can have. Begin to believe that. Begin to say it out loud in faith.
Now shout the victory. Yes, now! You don't have to wait to see the outcome to celebrate. You have Jesus' Word on the matter, so you know beyond any doubt that your breakthrough is coming. Once you've settled yourself on Him, you can be assured that He will have the last word!
