Prayer for Sudbury

Lord, we need your Real Presence.  Stay with us
today.  Stay with your threatened children.  Stay
with your inborn brothers and sisters.  Stay with
your suffering sick.   Stay with your isolated
handicapped.  Stay with your oppressed families.
Stay with your persecuted priests.  Stay with your
confused parents.   Stay with us in Your Real Presence.
We ask you, Lord, to work your miracles of mercy and
love.   Change us.  Convert us.  Transform us into
apostles of your Real Presence.

Prayer of faith for Sudbury and region:

We declare that you, God, take the wind out of Babel’s pretence; you shoot down the world’s power schemes. We thank you God that your plans stand up so that your will be done and your kingdom come in the city of Sudbury and region.
We confess that there is in our city and region desperation and hopelessness.
We chose to humble ourselves and confess the sin of pride and arrogance in the use of human methods for fixing problems and not turning to you God.
Save us, vindicate us by your strength.  Please release your warring angels to defeat the godless who oppose the purposes of your kingdom.
We ask you to lead us in victory against obstacles which stand against your will being done.
We thank you for being jealous over your prophecy that the north would be blessed and would fund your mighty revival.
We decree your covenant promise for this city and region such as in Isaiah 61; that you consol those who mourn, give beauty for ashes, joy for morning, a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair and that we will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of your glory.

4.  Josiah 8 Team of Under 35s in Ottawa               Nov. 15-21

. 21 DAY FAST TO RELEASE UNPRECEDENTED IMPACT THROUGH THIS YEAR'S JOSIAH TEAM AS THEY MEET WITH OUR MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT AND SENATORS

Nov. 15l-21 a group of young adult Christian Canadians from all over Canada will go to Parliament Hill with MY Canada. They will meet with 60 plus Members of Parliament and Senators in face to face sit down meetings (FYI: this is a big deal). Many of those meetings will be with key cabinet ministers and key decision makers. The purpose of these meetings is to thank them for their service to Canada, pray with them (where possible) and share our hearts with them on the issues we are passionate about, and, that they are debating and voting on in this session (euthanasia, human trafficking, crime issues, terrorism etc.).
.
As of November 1st our team is beginning a 21 day fast to cover the meetings in prayer and to believe God for unprecedented impact on Parliament Hill. We can't do it alone though. We need the body of Christ in Canada to arise with us and cover us in prayer for this amazing mission. Will you join us in impacting our nation by fasting with us? You can join us in one of three ways:
.
YOU CAN JOIN IN ONE OF THREE WAYS:
1.         Fast for the entire 21 days (if you have not done an extended fast before please contact your doctor first); some people are doing a liquid fast (drinking liquids only), a Daniel fast (fruits and vegetables only) or a total water only fast.
2.         Fast one day a week for the next 3 weeks (i.e., Sunday's, Monday's etc.)
3.         Pick one day from Nov. 1-21st and fast that day.
We truly believe that prayer is our most important asset. Thank you so much for considering joining with us in this very important way. Also, so we know how many people are fasting, and when, can you please e-mail us at admin@4mycanada.ca and let us know how you are participating? Thank you so much.
.
WHAT/HOW TO PRAY WHEN YOU ARE FASTING:
1.         Pray for the team of young adults that are going to be in the meetings to have a clear voice and to demonstrate both the fruit and power of the spirit.
2.         Pray for our Parliamentarians to be prepared as well.
3.         Pray for God's will to totally prevail over our schedule.
4.         Pray for the Parliamentary Reception we are hosting on Nov. 16th in Honour of our Parliamentarians to be the best one yet!
5.         For the voice of the young people on this team to affect positive change for Canada.
6.         For finances for each team member (they all pay their own way and are trusting God).
7.         For the team to have a very high level of unity and synergie and for our leadership team to lead well.
8.         For the prayer wall to be strong around us and for your prayers to hit the mark in accuracy.
.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SOW FINANCIALLY TO MAKE THE JOSIAH TEAM A SUCCESS WE WOULD BE SUPER GRATEFUL: Click here to donate now.
Costs for the Josiah Team (Please let us know if you would like to designate to one of these areas by e-mailing us at admin@4mycanada.ca after you sow. Thank you and God bless you.):
o          Parliamentary Reception: $2000.00
o          Gifts for MPs (given at each meeting): $1200.00 est.
o          Team Member Costs: $525 each.

5. The Centre for Spirituality at Work invites you to: Finding Vocation: Clarity + Courage = Confidence  with the Rev. Dr. Tim Elliott

 3 Wednesdays, Nov 18, 25, Dec 2, 2009
6:45 – 9:30 pm
At the Toronto Grace, near Yonge & Bloor, Toronto

Earlybird fee: Wed Nov 11, 2009

Most people spend more time and energy planning a vacation than they do considering their vocation.  To find your vocation for this stage of your life's journey and move forward with confidence, both clarity and courage are necessary. Especially in challenging times. This program gives you that important time for personal self-reflection, sharing with a partner, and group discussion, all within the context of the discernment model, Clarity and Courage.  Come with your musings about your career restlessness, your retirement, your job loss, or other major life changes.  You may be led to a new role in your organization, a renewed perspective on your profession, a reason to stay in or to leave your current position, an integrated view of volunteer and paid work, a more productive direction for your job search or retirement plans, or something entirely different.  Leave with a readiness for change or action, be it internal or external.  And enjoy the live piano music that will help us on the journey.

Tim Elliott, DMin, (www.TimElliott.ca <</span>http://www.TimElliott.ca> ) is a vocational consultant, speaker, and Anglican priest whose doctoral work focused on helping people find their vocation.  Through his own company Elliott Resource Services and Forrest & Company where he is a Director of Coaching & Facilitation, Tim offers individual coaching programs to help executives, lawyers, clergy, and other professionals with life and work transitions.  At Christ Church Deer Park he co-founded Jazz Vespers, and he regularly speaks across Canada about spirituality, jazz, creativity, vocation, and more.  Tim performs often as a solo pianist or with his quartet. He is the author of Clarity and Courage: Life as an Improvised Journey, and has released two solo piano CDs: All the Things You Are (jazz standards) and New Every Morning (favourite hymns), all available for sale at the program. Reach Tim at Tim@TimElliott.ca.

REGISTRATION: Program fee of $130 received by Wed Nov 11 or $145 following ($105 or $120 for Blue Card holders from our partner, the University of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto). Also payable at the same time is $20 non-refundable materials fee. 1.  Massive School Closures in Ontario Imminent Due to Low Birth Rate

By Patrick B. Craine

ONTARIO, November 10, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A new report from the education advocacy organization People for Education reveals that up to 335 Ontario schools face closure in the next three years because of declining enrolment, which stems from the province's low birth rate.

According to the organization, 172 elementary and secondary schools will close or are recommended to close by 2012, up from 145, which they reported in May.  Another 163 schools are currently under review.

"This represents the largest increase in school closings since the late 1990's," the report says, "when, between 1999 and 2004, school boards reacted to education funding cuts by closing over 250 schools across the province."

They attribute the closures to the massive decline in school enrolment and an outdated government-funding model that has not been adapted to compensate for the lower number of students.

"Since 1997, the average enrolment in Ontario's elementary schools has declined by 15%," the report states.  "In secondary schools, since 2002, the average enrolment has declined by 14%."

"Declining enrolment is a phenomena across the country, the result of a decline in the birth rate," they explain.  "Even Canada's substantial immigration rate does not offset the general aging of our population; proportionally, we have more seniors and fewer young people."

In fact, Statistics Canada has predicted that student enrolment in elementary and secondary schools will drop by 500,000 in the next 10 years.

http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2009/nov/09111011.html

Among the findings from the People for Education report:
•           Across the province, there are 172 schools slated to close or recommended for closing over the next 3 to 4 years.
•           A further 163 schools are currently undergoing Accommodation Reviews for possible closing.
•           In 8 of Ontario’s 72 boards, enrolment has declined by more than 20% since 2002. In Superior Greenstone DSB, for example, enrolment has declined by 39%.
•           Ontario will have 140,000 fewer students in 2012 than it had in 2002.
•           The average elementary school now has 310 students, compared to an average of 365 in 1997/98.
•           There are 812 students in an average secondary school, compared to a high of 947 students per school in 2002/03.

2.  As Olympic flame burns, Canada's sex industry heats up

Posted: November 03, 2009, 2:00 PM by Matt Gurney

Holy Post, Listen Up TV, Rikki Ratliff
By Rikki Ratliff, Listen Up TV

Canada’s sex trade industry is a complicated mess. Any time you have humans being actively bought and sold for the purposes of sexual exploitation, things tend to get a little tangled, even scandalous. Especially when it’s happening in your own backyard. A 2008 report by the Criminal Intelligence Service Canada (CISC) states that “across the country, organized crime networks are actively trafficking Canadian-born women and underage girls inter and intra-provincially, and in some instances to the United States, destined for the sex trade.”

While the images of foreign women in faraway countries holed up in seedy brothels seem morally reprehensible, Canadians should be just as abhorred by images of their own women and children being trafficked within the borders of their True North Strong and Free.

1.  Governor gets message, big victory for Christmas!

November 6, 2009     AFA

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear did not like a Christmas tree being called a Christmas tree. So he changed it. According to the Associated Press, Gov. Beshear recently decided the tree on the Capitol lawn in Frankfort, for 2009, should be called a "holiday" tree.

American Family Association immediately went to work against the forces of political correctness who wanted to remove the word "Christmas" from the Christmas season.  Within hours, we sent an email alert into the Bluegrass State asking our 38,370 AFA Action Alert friends to call and e-mail Governor Beshear.

Within days, thousands of phone calls and emails had flooded the governor's office, urging him to reverse his decision.  As a result, the governor issued a statement saying the tree would immediately and henceforth officially be called a "Christmas" tree.

You can stand with us and proclaim in your community that Christmas is not just a "holiday" focused on materialism, but a "holy day" when we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

2.  New UN Document Claims Gender Is Not Biological

Radicals at the UN are once again seeking to promote their anti-family agenda through international law. The most recent attempt is a perfect illustration of the dangers of unelected officials setting international norms and the absurd form these attempts to rewrite international law often take.

UN Special Rapporteur Martin Scheinin, an "expert" appointed by the UN Human Rights Commission, recently presented to the UN General Assembly the report "Protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism." The report was in response to a UN request for information on "gender-based human rights abuses in counterterrorism measures."

Yet, instead of seeking solutions to a definite problem confronting women around the world, Scheinin swings wildly off-mark and uses the report to push a dangerous alternative agenda by attempting to redefine gender within international law.

In the document purportedly about counter-terrorism, Scheinin reports that gender is not biological, but rather a social construct. He asserts that society, rather than nature, controls how "women's and men's roles, functions and responsibilities . . . are defined and understood. . . . Consequently, gender is not static; it is changeable over time and across contexts."

The report goes on to report that "[u]nderstanding gender as a social and shifting construct rather than as a biological and fixed category" will provide a better understand of gender-based human rights violations.

Not only is such a definition of gender absurd, but it also directly undermines any and all efforts to defend the family and traditional values within international law. By repeatedly and frequently asserting this definition with UN reports, documents, and treaties, radical activists can set an entirely new precedent for the world in any issues relating to gender identity, sexual orientation, or the family.

3.  Bishop again attacks Kennedy over abortion stand in health-care reform

09:04 AM EST on Tuesday, November 10, 2009

By Richard C. Dujardin

Journal Staff Writer

PROVIDENCE –– Even as they agreed to postpone a planned face-to-face meeting that had been set for Thursday, Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas J. Tobin turned up the heat Monday on U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy over his “rejection” of church teaching on abortion, calling on him to enter into a process of conversion and repentance. …

Bishop Tobin raised the question: What makes Kennedy think he’s Catholic? “Your baptism as an infant? Your family ties? Your cultural heritage?”

Being Catholic involves much more, he said, including acceptance of essential church teachings on matters of faith and morals, belonging to a parish community, weekly attendance at Mass and regular reception of the sacraments.

And support for abortion rights is not in the same category of those who struggle with sins of anger, pride, greed, impurity or dishonesty and then fail, the bishop declared.

“Your rejection of the Church’s teaching on abortion falls into a different category — it’s a deliberate and obstinate act of the will, a conscious decision that you’ve reaffirmed on many occasions.

4.  Lithuania rejects EU meddling

By Austin Ruse

(WASHINGTON, DC – C-FAM)  The fight over homosexual propaganda in schools taking place between the Lithuanian and European Parliaments escalated this week with the Lithuanian Parliament (Siemas) calling on its government to file suit against the Europeans in the Court of Justice of the European Union (EU).

The argument began with passage of a Lithuanian “Law on the Protection of Minors against the Detrimental Effect of Public Information” which prohibits promotion of “homosexual, bisexual, polygamous relations” among children under the age of 18. While the Lithuanian president subsequently vetoed the measure, the Siemas overturned his veto and the law is slated to go in effect next March.

As a consequence, in September the European Parliament (EP) voted 349-218 to condemn the new law and ask the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights to review it. The Parliament also considered what is called an “article 7” action against Lithuania, which could have resulted in Lithuania’s suspension from the European Union. Jean Lambert, a British MEP said at the time, “This law contravenes the EU Treaties, the EU Charter and the European Convention on Human Rights, and should be urgently repealed on those grounds.”

Besides the education of children and parental rights, the issue of national sovereignty is central to the debate. The Lithuanians insist they are free to enact such laws and that the European Institutions have no “competence” in them. Many Europeans have long feared what they see as inevitable EU interference in life and family matters.

3.  A Dark Radius …………about human trafficking in Canada

……………
A Dark Radius took home three awards, including Excellence in Screenwriting (Gia Milani); Excellence in Music Composition (Ralf Cassidy Bindles), and Best New Brunswick short drama (Gia Milani and Tony Whalen), making this four for four for Milani, and husband, producer Tony Whalen, and their four-year old production company, Shore Road Pictures. The company started with Milani's comedy, Bathroom Stalled (which showed in Los Angeles), and has now won awards for every film created under the banner (named for Milani's family cottage located on what used to be called Chemin de la Côte or "Shore Road").

Jessica Holt was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Drama by a New Brunswicker, incredible considering it was her first acting experience, handpicked by Milani who wrote the script with Jessica in mind after seeing her "fearless" performance at the UNB Art Centre Fundraiser for Transition House, Cabaret (2006). ………..

A Dark Radius, shot in the cold, dark winter, lights up the dark underground and very real world of human trafficking in Canada. Somewhere in the chill of the Canadian winter night, is a young woman, like Jessica, in six-inch heels and thin, inappropriate clothing working the sex trade.

4.  Trailers:  Demographic Winter & the sequel, Demographic Bomb

…”Demographic Winter was the first documentary to critically examine the real root causes of this global crisis... the social implications as well as the economic implications... before most people had any inkling that there was a problem.

And now, with the release of the much-awaited sequel, Demographic Bomb, we dig even deeper into the problem.

And this time around, we expose the real culprits and the inherently evil and racist policies that set this global crisis into motion and put us on the road to destruction. We explain why this global crisis will only get worse if we refuse to act.

Demographic Bomb uncovers all the shocking details and exposes how the United Nations, population-control advocates and others who benefit from diminishing the role of the natural family in society, have manipulated and exploited the weak... targeted the poor... promoted inherently racist policies, viciously attacked human rights (under the guise of promoting human rights)... and evaded political responsibilities for their actions.

But more than that, Demographic Bomb illustrates that the law of unintended consequences is very real and shows exactly how the programs and policies that were set into motion by these culprits back-fired on each and every one of us and why these programs and policies pose an ever-increasing threat to those of us in the developed world... more specifically... to you... to your family... and to your progeny.”

Citizen Response

1.  Citizen’s Response to CBC Documentary focus on Charles Darwin

I've noticed a series of CBC documentaries on Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution.     What I haven't noticed is an equal emphasis on the many scientists who do not ascribe to this theory in its totality.    Jewish comedien, Ben Stein, for example, in his documentary DVD, Expelled, interviews scientists internationally who state they can prove that with current knowledge of cell structure, there is no way that evolution can explain the creation of life.      I'm so frustrated with CBC when you only present one side, and thereby deprive Canadians of the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Diane Ikonen          November 6, 2009

2.  To:  Justice Minister Nicholson         Re:  BC court case on polygamy

I am writing in response to the situation where the BC government has decided to go to court to ask a few judges to determine if the current law against polygamous “marriages” in Canada is constitutional.

This raises big red flags to me, as it is reminiscent of the way that traditional marriage was struck down in law in Canada by the provincial court activist judges who proclaimed that the Federal government must change its laws to permit same-sex marriages.

Although you have said the Conservative government will strongly argue that Canada should have a law against polygamy and he will defend the current criminal law, what happens if one court deems the law unconstitutional ?

In the case of non-traditional marriage, the Federal government was caught in a legal trap and legal shenanigans, that resulted in a change in the definition of marriage.

At the time, those in opposition to a change in the law regarding the definition of marriage warned that to change the definition of marriage would open Pandora’s Box and permit the definition to be challenged in another aspect of the definition, that component being the number of people that one can marry at one time in Canada.

We’ve had enough radical social change in Canada that is harmful to families, in the midst of a society that is in crisis with family breakdown and instability.

Justice Minister Nicholson, what will you do to prevent further erosion of our traditional family unit in Canada?          Your leadership and wisdom will be crucial here in the Conservative Party and in Canada.     I look forward to your considered response.

Sincerely,

Diane Ikonen

3.  Response from MP Hedy Fry re: abortion

Dear Ms. Ikonen,

Thank you for your email regarding the status of abortion in Canada. I appreciate your concerns in this very serious matter.

As a physician, Member of Parliament and current Chair of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women, my aim is to ensure that an optimal quality of life is available to all individuals and families in Canada.

Those facing challenges must therefore have every opportunity to consider their options within the context of their own needs and beliefs, and most importantly, in consultation with their physician. Canadians must be guaranteed that they can exercise necessary and difficult choices in a safe, informed and respectful environment.

It is my belief that a single legislative standard governing abortion in Canada would contravene this fundamental freedom.

Once again, thank you for writing. Please do not hesitate to contact my office should you have any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Hon. Hedy Fry, P.C., M.P.

            Dear Hon. Hedy Fry

            Dear MPs,
It is time that Canada dealt with the abortion
issue.    When the law restricting abortion was
struck down in Canada 40 years ago, it was never
intended that 3.5 million Canadian babies would
be aborted, and that abortion would become a
taxpayer-funded birth control method.

We have the terrible situation now where babies
can be aborted full term.     These unborn
children are ripped apart and feel pain.

Please consider the need to legislate
restrictions on abortion.

            Sincerely,

            Diane Ikonen

1.  Old Jewish Man at the Western Wall

A female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Western Wall to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time.  She went to check it out.

She went to the Western Wall and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site.

She watched him pray and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, using a
cane and moving very slowly, she approached him for an interview.

“Pardon me, sir, I’m Rebecca Smith from CNN.  What’s your name?"
“Morris Fishbein,” he replied.

“Sir, how long have you been coming to the Western Wall and praying?”

“For about 60 years.”

“60 years!  That’s amazing! What do you pray for?”

“I pray for peace between the Christians, Jews and the Muslims."

“I pray for all the wars and all the hatred to stop."

“I pray for all our children to grow up safely as responsible adults, and
to love their fellow man.”

“And how do you feel after doing this for 60 years?”

“Like I’m talking to a brick wall!"

2.  Two little boys

Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, were excessively mischievous.

They were always getting into trouble and their  parents knew all about it. If any mischief occurred in their town, the two boys were probably involved.

The boys' mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in   disciplining children,   so she asked if he would speak with her boys.

The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. So the mother sent the 8 year old first,  in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon.

The preacher, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly,

'Do you know where God is, son?'

The boy's mouth dropped open , but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open.

So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone,
'Where is God?'

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice even more and shook
his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, 'Where is God?'

The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him.

When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, 'What happened?'

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied,'We are in BIG trouble this time,'

(I just LOVE reading this next line again and againHappy

'GOD is missing, and they think we did it!'

Words of Wisdom

1.  HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers and factors.
This includes age, height, eye and skin color, who your parents are, past stuff and present stuff that you can't change.
Don't worry about what you cannot change.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
Who you are attached to will bless you up or mess you up.
Make sure that YOU are a cheerful friend and not a grouch.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

5. Enjoy the simple things. Breath is one of the simple things.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. Don't blame others for your situation. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge www.theonlineword.com/mp3/7150.mp3

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help. Your body is the most important vehicle you will ever own.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

We all need to live life to its fullest each day!

2.  Definition of Good Communication

“Good communication has two properties:  you express your feelings openly and directly, and you encourage the other person to express his or her feelings.  You say how you are thinking and feeling, and you try to listen and understand what the other person is thinking and feeling.  According to this definition, the ideas and feelings of both people are important.”           Burns

3.  Are You At War?     by Tanya James

As Christians, there are some things you can be sure of ... battles will come, the enemy will try to take you out, people will come against you, and life as a Christian will not always be easy.   There is simply no denying that spiritual warfare is real and present.

However, you can find encouragement in the fact that you will get through it.   It's one thing to be at war and not know the outcome.   But how awesome is it to know that we have the victory in God?   Even when it seems impossible ... ultimately, we win.

There is a scripture that I absolutely love because it seems to sum it all up for me.

"We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." II Corinthians 4:8-9

When I find myself in the midst of spiritual warfare, I go straight to God's word. (This is a good time to have some scripture hidden in your heart).   It's true - you must put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11-18)

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1

"...If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

"I have called you by your name, You are Mine.   When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.   When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you." Isaiah 43:2-3

You can fight me.   You can talk about me.   You can run my name through the mud.   You can hurt me.   You can betray me.   You can deny me.   You can mistreat me.  You can take everything I own.  You can try to destroy.  You can plot against me.  You can misuse me.  You can lie on me.  You can try to kill me.

..and even if through human eyes it appears that I've been conquered - I can continue to stand firm on what GOD said.  Yes, you may appear to win a battle here and there ... but the war ... you can't win!

"No weapon formed against me shall prosper." Isaiah 54:17a

*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty*

*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*

*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*

*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
